How does pricing work?

The pricing works on a sliding scale dependent on a few factors. This includes the difficulty of the work, the cost of the thread and the time required to complete the design.

Generally speaking, simpler designs (like the rainbow or feather in my portfolio) take approximately 1-2 hours per panel and start from $95. This includes return postage with Australia Post. As complexity, thread and time increases, so does the price.

Custom quotes include both outer panels of the boots and payment needs to be recieved before work will commence.

I do not do discounts. Please don't ask.

How do I get my boots or hat embroidered?

Yay! Fill out the form in the contact section to get the ball rolling.

I take only a handful of bookings per month. Bookings are taken solely through this website (not Instagram DMs) and turn around is within 5-6 weeks of receiving the item. Once work is completed, the item is sent back using Australia Post however, delays are common in the present climate and I cannot be held accountable for items that do not make it back in time or are lost iduring transit.

Proof of postage is required 48 hours after booking confirmation is received. Work will not commence until paid in full.

Please note: I reserve the right to decline any work that is not aligned with my ability, capacity or brand.

Do you do boy's boots?

I am dying to do something more traditionally masculine such as skulls, flames, snakes, mountains, waves, camping or planetary themed designs.

Question 4

Can I come up with my own design?

Accepted Answer

Of course!

Please create a moodboard or include some inspiration images of what you like or have seen before. Just remember, the area is small and the elastic is a tough material to work with. This means the simpler the better, as stitching cannot capture finite detail like an image can. Feel free to choose a design I have done before and change it to suit your preferences.

I encourage you to use keywords + embroidery to see what is possible. Pinterst is a great tool for this!

Please note, I do not copy other people's designs verbatim and I don't do pets/complex animals. I reserve the right to decline any work that is outside of my ability, style or brand.

Do you provide the boots or hat?

Accepted Answer

No.

The customer provides the boots or hat for the embroidery work. The boots or hat do not have to be brand new, but they must be clean, because I handle them a lot during th eprocess and in good condition to maintain the integrity of the work. I recommend Blundstone or Dr Martens boots or similiar and felt hats from suppliers such as Will and Bear.

Feel free to have brand new items shipped directly to me to cut out the middle man and save on postage.

How do the boots or hat get to you?

Using Australia Post is the best way to get your boots to me. Postage is paid for by the customer and costs around $15 (up to 1kg weight) with tracking around Australia.

If you are located in Hobart, then I can arrange a drop off/pick up option - just let me know.

I will reutnr the items to you once completed. The return postage is included in the price.

Does the embroidery ruin the elastic?

In my experience, the needle work has not ruined the integrity of the elsatoc in anyway. Most of my boots are over two years old and endure daily outdoor wear,  including hikes and camping.

I have noticed that the lighter threads get a little soiled/discoloured as they get more used, but other than that no issues.

Note: It is only if a design has been unpicked, that the elastic looks a little 'rougher' in some sections.

The elastic will naturally wear and lose it's elasticity as the boots age, but this is a normal part of the process.

Do both of my designs have to be the same?

Nope.

In fact,  it is nearly impossible to get the exact same design on each panel - that is the beauty of handmade art. They will never be perfectly symmetrical, but that is a part of the beauty.  I always try my best to match them as closely as I can.

I personally quite enjoy having different designs on each panel. However, I would recommend keeping to a theme or similar colour scheme to help tie them together aesthetically.

But if you want two random designs, that is totally fine too! Whatever floats your boat and I am more than happy to accomodate. Depending on the design, one panel may cost more than the other.
